The Isle of Wight College & Leslies Motors Partnership

We are delighted to announce that we have recently partnered with the Isle of Wight college in 2022, in a bid to provide some students with an opportunity to work in our workshops as an apprentice.

As part of an exciting new venture, we have recently taken on 4 apprentices from the Motor Vehicle course for students wanting to learn the trade in a real workshop environment.

We've taken an apprentice in for each of our workshops across the Island, for our Mazda/Kia, Toyota, Hyundai & Suzuki sites. They have been fitting in well with our teams across the Island, and are learning how a manufacturer workshop operates. While they continue to attend college part time as part of the apprenticeship, the students will eventually head to our manufacturer training centres to learn in more detail about the cars they will see day to day.

As well as taking on the apprentices, Leslies have assisted the college in their training for a green future, by sourcing a Nissan Leaf for workshop training. As well as a new Hyundai IONIQ for them to use as a pool vehicle for zero emissions driving.

We are also planning on attending career days at the college, taking along some vehicles to highlight the new and exciting modern technology we are working with today in the automotive world, for students who are interested in a potential career in the industry.

We are very excited at the prospect of working so closely with the college, and with the students who are the future of our industry. If you'd like to know more about this partnership, fill out an enquiry form below.
