Ben, who has been working with us at Leslies Motors since 2008, recently took to the podium at the 2019 NatWest International Island Games XVIII after coming third in the men's 100kg Judo category. What a fantastic achievement!
Ben started practicing Judo in Ryde back in 2008, and then went on to train at Priory Judo Club in Portsmouth, where he still trains today. His passion for the sport has landed him the current rank of 29th in the country.
The Island Games is held once every two years, and they only have 14 sports at each games, so Judo is not always included in the line-up. The sport hadn't made an appearance at the games since 2009, but was bought back 10 years later ready for Ben's podium finish.
We'd like to congratulate Ben on his amazing achievement, we hope there will be many more medals to come.
