Mazda & Chery Update – Frequently Asked Questions

Following our recent announcement regarding Mazda new vehicle sales and the introduction of Chery, we understand you may have questions. We have answered the most common ones below.

Why is Leslies Motors no longer selling new Mazda vehicles?

After 47 successful years representing Mazda on the Isle of Wight, we will conclude new Mazda vehicle sales at the end of February.

As a family business with over 75 years of trading history, we continually review our franchise portfolio to ensure we are offering the right vehicles and technology for Island drivers, both now and in the future.

While this chapter is coming to a close, we are incredibly proud of our long-standing association with Mazda and grateful to the many customers who have supported us over the decades.

Will you still service and maintain Mazda vehicles?

Yes.

Leslies Motors will remain an Authorised Mazda Repairer.

This means you can continue to rely on us for:

  • Manufacturer-approved servicing
  • Genuine Mazda parts
  • Warranty repairs
  • Software updates and recalls
  • MOT testing and routine maintenance
  • Mazda-trained technicians

Your Mazda will continue to receive full manufacturer-standard support locally.

Can I still have warranty work carried out with you?

Yes.

As an Authorised Mazda Repairer, we can continue to carry out warranty work in line with Mazda’s manufacturer guidelines.

Will you still have access to Mazda technical support and systems?

Yes.

We will retain full access to Mazda’s technical systems, diagnostics, parts supply, and support networks to ensure we can continue to maintain and repair Mazda vehicles to manufacturer standards.

What happens to my service plan?

If you have a Mazda service plan, it remains valid and can continue to be used with us as your local Authorised Repairer.

If you are unsure about your plan or would like clarification, please contact our Aftersales team who will be happy to assist.

Can I still buy used Mazda vehicles from you?

Yes.

We will continue to stock quality approved used Mazda vehicles as part of our used car offering, subject to availability.

Why are you introducing Chery?

We are introducing Chery as part of our commitment to evolving with the automotive market and bringing new technology and choice to the Isle of Wight.

Having reviewed Chery’s upcoming product range and future plans, we believe the brand represents an exciting opportunity for local drivers, combining modern design, advanced technology and strong value.

Further details about showroom developments and launch events will be announced soon.

Will this change affect your staff?

No.

There will be no job losses as part of this transition. In fact, as the new brand develops, there may be opportunities for additional recruitment.
